Lathrop faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Malemutes came out on top against the Wolf Pack by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 last Tuesday.

Jordann Lowe and KEO Kiersten Ostnes scored all three of Lathrop's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Lathrop and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two games. As for West Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7-1.

Coming up, Lathrop will square off against Juneau-Douglas at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Juneau-Douglas' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for West Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge North Pole at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Valley will be up against North Pole's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.13 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
