Basketball Recap: New Hope Christian Warriors vs. Crosspoint Christian Warriors
Make it 14 blowout wins for the New Hope Christian Warriors this season. They claimed a resounding 55-12 win over Crosspoint Christian on the road. Given New Hope Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Warriors are ranked 224th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Hope Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avarly Barnett, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Barnett has scored at least a third of New Hope Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Zumhofe, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
New Hope Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Crosspoint Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
New Hope Christian will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Myrtle Point is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. Crosspoint Christian is on the road again on Monday and plays the Honkers at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
