Baseball Recap: Escambia County Takes a Loss

Escambia County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats, falling 19-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 17-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Escambia County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamarion Robinson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Robinson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Devin Riley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Escambia County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

While Escambia County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
