Baseball Recap: Hartford Drops Highest Score of Season Against Oconomowoc

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hartford). They were the clear victors by a 24-7 margin over the Oconomowoc Raccoons on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Orioles with their most commanding win of the season.

Andrew Horwath looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Hartford got a massive performance out of Kaiden Romens, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Romens a new career-high. Joe Landgraf was another key player, going 3-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and one double.

Hartford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .635. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hartford's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Oconomowoc, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Hartford will face off against Indian Trail at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Orioles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Oconomowoc, they will square off against Catholic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
