Softball Recap: Hayfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Falls Church last Friday, Hayfield came back down to earth. The Hawks fell 7-4 to the Edison Eagles on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 19-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Hayfield's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Edison, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Edison beat Hayfield by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday.
