After a string of seven wins, Trenton's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lafayette Hornets by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 4, 2024.

Mason VunCannon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brock Petrello, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

Trenton's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Lafayette, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
