Soccer Game Preview: Nordonia vs. Lake

The Nordonia Knights will head out to square off against the Lake Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nordonia has given up an average of 4.4 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lake will have to contend with a Nordonia squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since August 28. Nordonia lost 9-0 to Hudson on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Nordonia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Hudson are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Lake kept a clean sheet against McKinley on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for Lake in their matchups with McKinley: they've now won eight in a row.

Aldo Ortiz Jimenez and Shane Grisan scored both of Lake's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Nordonia's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Lake, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11-1.

Nordonia might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Lake in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
