After a string of six wins, Teutopolis's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Effingham Hearts by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hearts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Monday.

Averie Wolfe was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

Teutopolis' defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Effingham, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Teutopolis will look to defend their home court on Monday against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. As for Effingham, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Carbondale on the 21st.
