Basketball Recap: Clearview Pioneers vs. Wildwood Catholic Crusaders
Clearview lost against Wildwood Catholic back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Clearview Pioneers were dealt a 77-37 defeat at the hands of the Wildwood Catholic Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Crusaders are ranked 15th).
Wildwood Catholic was led to victory by Lola McGonigle and Dani Daley. McGonigle posted 19 points and six assists, while Daley earned 16 points. Daley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily King, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
Clearview's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wildwood Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will challenge Kingsway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wildwood Catholic has already played their next game (against Middle Township), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
