Football Recap: ED White Piles Up the Points Against Westside

The matchup between ED White and Westside on Friday hardly resembled the 20-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Commanders claimed a resounding 65-0 victory over the Wolverines. The Commanders haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

ED White's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Williams led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing yards Williams has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of King Boylston, who threw for 175 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes.

ED White didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Julian Holt, Damarion Rowe, and Jacquari Parks picked up one apiece. Holt is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Rowe got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for ED White, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Holt, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from King Mercer.

ED White's record now sits at 2-0. As for Westside, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ED White will venture away from home to face off against Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Commanders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Westside, they will face off against Ribault at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
