Baseball Recap: Atrisco Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Atrisco Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 19-5 to the Albuquerque Academy Chargers. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Fabian Escobedo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Samuel Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Albuquerque Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Atrisco Heritage Academy will welcome Eldorado at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Albuquerque Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against La Cueva at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
