Baseball Recap: Collinsville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Collinsville hadn't beaten Highland on the road since May 2, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Kahoks walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs. The win was nothing new for the Kahoks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Logan O'Dell looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Collinsville's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-2 (and 5-11 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Swip, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Parrill, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Collinsville's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Collinsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
