Softball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-0 to the Elverado Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Elverado, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will venture away from home to square off against Vienna at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meridian will need to watch out since Vienna has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Elverado, they are taking a road trip to challenge Trico at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Elverado's pitchers better be ready for this one: Trico has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
