Baseball Recap: Ridgecroft Comes Up Short

Ridgecroft dropped their record down to 7-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Lawrence Academy Warriors, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on Monday.

Ridgecroft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Cutchins, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

As for Lawrence Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6. Considering they have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Lawrence Academy's side, Hunter Eason made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eason has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Winston Warren was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Haiden Little was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Ridgecroft will head out to face off against Northeast Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Lawrence Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
