Baseball Game Preview: Berea-Midpark Titans vs. Gilmour Academy Lancers

The Berea-Midpark Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Gilmour Academy Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Berea-Midpark lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Midview, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Titans were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Middies on Tuesday. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Berea-Midpark got a massive performance out of Dylan Papushak, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. Papushak also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Michael Samarin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Berea-Midpark always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midview only posted an OBP of .344.

Meanwhile, Gilmour Academy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Hawken get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Gilmour Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Berea-Midpark, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.
