Basketball Recap: Taylor County's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Taylor County won the last time they faced Schley County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Taylor County Vikings took down the Schley County Wildcats 58-43. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Wildcats are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Schley County lost, don't look at Payton Goodin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Goodin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Jamesen Hollomon was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

The win (which was Taylor County's fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Schley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Taylor County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-54 loss against Macon County on the 13th. As for Schley County, they have also already played their next contest, a 40-39 defeat against Marion County on the 13th.
