Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Noble

While Noble put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Portland. The Knights came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 4-0. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 7-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Noble got a great performance from Aiden Torno as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wesley Turnbull, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Hale, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

The victory (which was Noble's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Portland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Noble will face off against Sanford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Portland, they will take on Deering at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
