Soccer Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Northwest Christian's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Northwest Christian's and Yuma Catholic's contest on Saturday was close at halftime, but Northwest Christian turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. The Northwest Christian Crusaders put the hurt on the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks with a sharp 3-0 win. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Sarah Johnson and Betsie Jahn scored all three of Northwest Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Northwest Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Yuma Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Northwest Christian will venture away from home to face off against Benjamin Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benjamin Franklin is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Northwest Christian a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch. Yuma Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
