Preview: South Bend St. Joseph Indians vs. NorthWood Panthers
South Bend St. Joseph has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the NorthWood Panthers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Bend St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, South Bend St. Joseph was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to South Bend Adams.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kayla Woods, who scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicki Byrne, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, NorthWood slipped by Jimtown 40-39 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for NorthWood.
South Bend St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for NorthWood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
South Bend St. Joseph came up short against NorthWood in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 51-40. Can South Bend St. Joseph avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
