Basketball Recap: Alleghany Comes Up Short

Alleghany and Western Albemarle squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Alleghany had to settle for second. They were dealt a 71-38 loss at the hands of the Western Albemarle Warriors.

Despite the loss, Alleghany still got an impressive performance from Bryce Leitch, who posted 27 points. Kelsey Nicely was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Alleghany's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Western Albemarle, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Alleghany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Albemarle, they will welcome East Rockingham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Western Albemarle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
