Recap: Tri-Cities Bulldogs vs. Chapel Hill Panthers

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 25 to ten on the offensive boards, a fact the Tri-Cities Bulldogs proved on Friday. They strolled past Chapel Hill with points to spare, taking the game 60-42. Given Tri-Cities' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Chapel Hill is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-Cities to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssia Bandele, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Bandele is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Emari Benton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.

Chapel Hill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emahni Chambliss, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds, and Za?khiyah Thompson who scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Chambliss pulled down eight or more rebounds.

Tri-Cities' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Tri-Cities will be playing at home against Lithia Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chapel Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Midtown at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
