Overhills came into Friday's contest looking for another win against South View, but Cristian Simmons wouldn't allow it. The Tigers took down the Jaguars 42-23 on Friday thanks in part to Simmons, who rushed for 200 yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.8 rushing yards per game.

South View's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Brendan Jones was the leader with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Overhills lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Clarence Teewia, who picked up four receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 83 yards. Ryyan Coley also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

South View's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Overhills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

South View and Overhills will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on Westover at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Overhills, their break will end when they face Hoke County at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
