Baseball Recap: Chaminade-Madonna Extends Winning Streak to Six

Chaminade-Madonna had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt South Broward on Wednesday. The Chaminade-Madonna Lions put the hurt on the South Broward Bulldogs with a sharp 13-5 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Manny Delaosa looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Miguel Roa, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Vargas, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Chaminade-Madonna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Broward only posted a batting average of .208.

The win was the sixth in a row for Chaminade-Madonna, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for South Broward, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chaminade-Madonna Lions challenge Western Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaminade-Madonna's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Western's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Broward, they will face off against Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Broward is facing Monarch at the right time seeing as Monarch is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
