Basketball Recap: RJ Franklin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hoover over Sanger

Hoover suffered their closest loss since January 16, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Sanger Apaches by a score of 53-50. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now lost three in a row.

Hoover lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being RJ Franklin, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cesar Juarez, who put up nine points.

Hoover's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Sanger, their record is now 15-6.

Hoover won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hoover has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Sanger, they will welcome Sunnyside at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
