Basketball Game Preview: Wilkes Central Eagles vs. Hibriten Panthers

The Wilkes Central Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Hibriten Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilkes Central has given up an average of 61.8 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wilkes Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past West Iredell 67-64. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Hibriten didn't have quite enough to beat South Caldwell on Thursday and fell 55-53. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Hibriten now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wilkes Central, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Wilkes Central was able to grind out a solid win over Hibriten when the teams last played back in January, winning 60-48. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
