Football Preview: Douglas Tigers vs. Reno Huskies
Douglas hasn't had much luck against Reno recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Douglas Tigers will play host again on Friday to welcome the Reno Huskies, where kickoff is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. Douglas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30 points per game this season.
Douglas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Manogue, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (Douglas was ranked 14th). Douglas lost 48-24 to Bishop Manogue on Thursday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reno). They walked away with a 35-28 victory over McQueen on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Braylon Wilson, who threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. A healthy portion of Wilson's aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Chase Langbehn, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Reno, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.
