Basketball Recap: Indiana Christian Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Indiana Christian Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 62-61 victory over the Anderson HomeSchool SONS. This was payback for the Whirlwinds, who suffered a 73-71 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sawyer Tipton was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 38 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Jake Gilbert was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points.

Indiana Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Anderson HomeSchool's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailani McCloud, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. McCloud has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Clark Emly, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Indiana Christian Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Anderson HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Indiana Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-36 victory against Heritage Hall Christian on the 20th.
