Football Game Preview: Ganado Indians vs. Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats + How To Watch

Ganado is a perfect 5-0 against Bloomington since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Bobcats/Lady Cats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ganado has four straight wins, Bloomington has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Bloomington better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Ganado's game last Friday is any indication, that's when Ganado really gets things going. The Indians blew past Schulenburg 42-20. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Shorthorns are ranked 676th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Landyn Arriaga continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 92 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 101 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Bures, who rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Ganado, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sean Willis, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bloomington's offense. They were outmatched by Schulenburg and fell 41-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bobcats/Lady Cats were not able to get on the board.

Ganado's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bloomington, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Ganado against Bloomington in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured an 86-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
