Basketball Recap: Bozeman's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

After a string of five wins, Bozeman's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks. The Bucks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tiger Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Bozeman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cash Zirkle, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Bozeman is 12-4 when Zirkle posts ten or more rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise. Zac Flitcraft was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Port St. Joe was led to victory by Jayden Reese and Zay Jenkins. Reese posted 17 points and seven rebounds, while Jenkins went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points. Jenkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kanaan Jefferson, who scored 11 points.

Bozeman's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Port St. Joe, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Bozeman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-68 victory against Freeport on the 3rd. Port St. Joe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
