Basketball Recap: Bothell Comes Up Short

If Bothell was feeling good fresh off their 79-49 takedown of Ingraham last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bothell Cougars lost 84-61 to the Redmond Mustangs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Mustangs are ranked 34th).

When it comes to explaining why Bothell lost, don't look at Stefan Savovic. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 10 on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Savovic now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Nassir Gatdet, who posted ten points.

Bothell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Redmond, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Bothell has already played their next contest, a 63-54 win against North Creek on the 4th. As for Redmond, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-58 victory against Mercer Island on the 4th.
