Basketball Recap: Orange Grove Comes Up Short

Orange Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 68-55 to the San Diego Vaqueros. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-64 back in December of 2024.

San Diego can attribute much of their success to Myke Gutierrez, who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Gutierrez a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jayson Garcia, who put up 12 points.

Orange Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for San Diego, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Orange Grove has already played their next game, a 61-38 victory against Hebbronville on the 24th. As for San Diego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-44 win against Santa Gertrudis Academy on the 24th.
