Baseball Recap: Wawasee Warriors vs. NorthWood Panthers
Wawasee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the NorthWood Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.
As for NorthWood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.
For NorthWood's part, Mason Bogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Bogan has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, NorthWood got a big performance out of Brody Rondeau, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Rondeau a new career-high. Nathan Shrock also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
