Volleyball Recap: Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Has No Trouble Against Union Mine

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Union Mine Diamondbacks. This was payback for the Fire Wolves, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning never let Union Mine on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-23.

Deacon Strutton paced Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's offense, picking up 21 kills. Strutton got some help from Christian McKnight and his 36 assists. McKnight was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

The win got Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning will challenge Futures at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
