Johannesburg-Lewiston waltzed into their match on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the East Jordan Red Devils. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.

Emerson Valentine spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Brittney Fox was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Neela Lawes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Johannesburg-Lewiston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Johannesburg-Lewiston's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for East Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johannesburg-Lewiston will head out to take on Pellston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Jordan, they will venture away from home to face off against Mancelona at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
