Recap: Oak Ridge War Eagles vs. College Park Cavaliers
The Oak Ridge War Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 37-27 victory over College Park. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Oak Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why College Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Conner Dunphy. Despite the final result, he picked up 240 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dunphy's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Another player making a difference was Rodrigo Bravo jr, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Oak Ridge's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely College Park, Grand Oaks, and New Caney. As for College Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Oak Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caney Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 601st, while Oak Ridge is ranked 189th). As for College Park, they will head out on the road to face off against New Caney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
