Baseball Recap: Riverside Generals vs. ED White Commanders
Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the ED White Commanders. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Commanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Josh Skipper was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Ricky Torres led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kenton Scott, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for ED White, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
