Baseball Recap: Ider Takes a Loss

Ider had taken Gaylesville down for five straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Hornets took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Axl Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Ider has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for Gaylesville, their win bumped their record up to 8-11-1.

Looking ahead, Ider will face off against Covenant Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.73 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. Gaylesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
