Basketball Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. North Stanly Comets
South Stanly has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Stanly will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 577th, while the Comets are ranked 159th).
Last Friday, South Stanly took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 68-25. South Stanly has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Stanly gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Gray Stone Day with a sharp 68-44 win.
South Stanly's loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for North Stanly, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
South Stanly came up short against the Comets when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 54-41. Thankfully for South Stanly, Paris Bennett (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
