Baseball Recap: Hempstead Comes Up Short

The matchup between Hempstead and Pleasant Valley on Thursday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs fell 14-11 to the Spartans. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in July of 2024.

Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Pleasant Valley, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Spartans beat Hempstead by a score of 5-1 later that day.
