Football Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Charlestown Pirates, falling 40-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 54-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2016.

Christian Grayson was nothing short of spectacular for Charlestown: he threw for 393 yards and six TDs while picking up 16.4 yards per attempt. Those 393 passing yards gave Grayson a new career-high. Slone Roberts did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 175 receiving yards.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Charlestown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Madison has already played their next matchup, a 28-7 defeat against Connersville on the 12th. As for Charlestown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-22 win against North Harrison on the 12th.
