After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knoxville Catholic, Lipscomb Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Memphis University School Owls with a sharp 49-24 win. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Eli Mast was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 375 yards and three TDs while completing 79.2% of his passes. A healthy portion of Mast's aerial production (109 yards to be exact) went to Cameron Blivens, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Memphis University School had strong showings from Gavin Gatere, who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and Price Renovich, who rushed for 37 yards and one score. Gatere's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Lipscomb Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Memphis University School, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Lipscomb Academy will square off against Ensworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Memphis University School, they will challenge Father Ryan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls are facing the Irish at the right time seeing as the Irish are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
