Softball Game Preview: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Glacier Peak Grizzlies

The Lake Stevens Vikings will challenge the Glacier Peak Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Lake Stevens has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Lake Stevens didn't have quite enough to beat Kamiak and fell 7-6.

Cora Quintel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was McKenna Richer, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Glacier Peak entered their tilt with Archbishop Murphy on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They skirted past the Wildcats 6-4.

Emma Hirshorn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Morgan Udy, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Sammie Christensen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Glacier Peak's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Stevens, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
