Recap: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. McDonald Blue Devils
Make it nine blowout wins for the Mineral Ridge Rams this season. They took their match at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-22 win over McDonald. The win was familiar territory for Mineral Ridge who now have six in a row.
Mineral Ridge was led to victory by Ava Hulett and Sullivan Sandy. Hulett scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Sandy scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sandy has scored all season. Gianna Gilbert was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Mineral Ridge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for McDonald, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Mineral Ridge's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mogadore at 6:15 p.m. on January 22nd. As for McDonald, they will head out on the road to take on McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. McKinley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
