Soccer Recap: Gunnison Valley Takes a Loss

Gunnison Valley and Rowland Hall squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Gunnison Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Winged Lions by a score of 2-1. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Gunnison Valley couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Chase Maples, who's now up to 12 this season.

Gunnison Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Rowland Hall, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Gunnison Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rowland Hall, they will face off against American Heritage at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rowland Hall's defense better be ready for this one: American Heritage have averaged an impressive 6 goals per game this season.
