Softball Recap: Spruce Mountain Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Spruce Mountain can now relate to. They came up short against the Lisbon Greyhounds on Thursday, falling 9-2. The Phoenix have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Devin Bryant was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Santika Hodgkin, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Spruce Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lisbon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Spruce Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lisbon, they will square off against Hall-Dale on Saturday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
