The Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Indian Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Pojoaque Valley is ranked 54th, while Santa Fe Indian is ranked 42nd).
On Friday, Pojoaque Valley earned a 27-17 win over Shiprock.
Pojoaque Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alison Paytiamo led the charge by scoring nine points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Lauren Salazar was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Indian beat Capital 38-26 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Santa Fe Indian.
Pojoaque Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Santa Fe Indian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
