Softball Game Preview: Manchester West Blue Knights vs. Kingswood Knights

The Manchester West Blue Knights will square off against the Kingswood Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester West has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 12 straight defeats, while Kingswood will come in with three straight victories.

Manchester West fell victim to Lebanon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Kingswood came out on top against Stark on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Knights walked away with a 9-5 win over the Generals.

Lexi M looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Avery G and Cassidy L did most of the damage at the plate: G went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while L went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Cae B was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Kingswood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Manchester West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Manchester West beat Kingswood 8-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Do the Blue Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
