Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Pioneers vs. St. Francis Spartans

St. Francis de Sales hasn't had much luck against St. Francis recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. Francis de Sales Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the St. Francis Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-41, which was the final score in St. Francis de Sales' tilt against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Wolfpack are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, St. Francis' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 53-44 to De La Salle.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for St. Francis de Sales, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

St. Francis de Sales came up short against St. Francis in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 71-65. Can St. Francis de Sales avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
