Recap: Propel Montour Legends vs. Western Beaver Golden Beavers
This season hasn't been kind to the Propel Montour Legends, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were outmatched by Western Beaver at home and fell 69-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Propel Montour in their matchups with Western Beaver: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Western Beaver to victory were Jon Backur and Carter Marshall. Backur scored 18 points, while Marshall scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Marshall scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Martin, who scored ten points.
Propel Montour bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Western Beaver, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Propel Montour will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Springdale at 7:00 p.m. on January 24, 2024. Western Beaver is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Avella at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. One thing working in Avella's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
