Softball Recap: Upperman Bees vs. Clay County Bulldogs
Upperman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-1 to the Clay County Bulldogs. The Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Reece Kimmell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.
At the plate, Upperman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Butler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Upperman's record is now 0-5. As for Clay County, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
